Out and About Trend Spotting

Melissa spotted this cute Red Riding Hood character in Kinyokunia in New York. If you aren't aware of this book store, it is Japanese and carries a select amount of stationery, nic-nacs, magazines, books, games and toys from Japan.

The character is a racoon called Kireizukin Seikatu and is by a collective called San. The little raccoon appears to be very domesticated !

The trend for Red Riding Hood is becoming more apparent, I guess since the remake of Alice in Wonderland.  It would be our generation's nostalgic look back at our childhood and what we grew up with, magical animation.

These images are from Deal, and the brand is called Otogicco. This particular character is aptly named Little Red Riding Hood.

The next images are from a very well known Japanese designer called Shinzi Katoh and show Red Hood the rabbit, and Tittie Red Hood ( yes you did read that right ), the little girl.

We love his work and have been collecting his Decole from Japan ever since our first trip there over ten years ago. Here is the last piece of Shinzi Katoh that we bought, a great conversational plate
